This is not a sponsored post by any means. I just got thinking about what items have made this summer bearable for me this year, despite a limited budget.
And it's not prickly heat powder or air-conditioning XD
1. A weekly treat: Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf's (CBTL) Mondays Made Better Promo. I don't go out to eat anymore and everything is through take-out or delivery, mostly essentials. However, I've found that I do tend to purchase a weekly treat. This summer, it's in the form of an ice-cold drink in the form of CBTL's Monday Made Better drink. It's much cheaper than its usual price and gives me a little boost for my most hated day of the week.
2. A cold tumbler: YETI Rambler (not pictured). Okay, I actually want my own ice-maker, but it's too expensive. But I need ICE cold water in my life, daily so my next best option is a tumbler that keeps things really cool. I've found that my tumbler does keep my water quite cold so I fill the jug in the morning with a quarter part of ice along with my water and I have acceptably cold water for the next 24 hours. I've found that I don't use as much ice through out the day compared to a normal glass, so it's a sure win for me.
3. A peppermint drink: Teeccino's Roasted Herbal Tea in Dandelion Mocha Mint. As much as I want Starbucks' Peppermint Mocha drink, it's a seasonal drink I can't really afford right now. So I've been using Teeccino's Dandelion Mocha Mint to quell that craving, while cooling me down. I love that I can use it both hot and iced, both in the morning and at night. I use each bag at least twice (since it CAN) and it is a spendy tea. And at 10 calories a serving, it's a diet-friendly substitute as well.
4. A relaxing mist: In Her Element's Rose Moisture Mist. I love the essence and I love the mist. Such that I've already given this to family and friends. When my face is feeling hot, I just spray and pat to cool down. The extra time with my eyes closed while the mist dries also acts to refresh the mind.
5. A dehumidifier: unbranded from shopee (*winkwink*). I've seen girls going crazy over humidifiers over winter. But I don't see people loving dehumidifiers during high summer in the Philippines. Which is crazy because the country is hot and humid at this time. What's worse than being hot? It's being hot AND sticky. I like to use a dehumidifier during the summer just to bring down the humidity in my environment just a little bit. Note that I'd love 24 hour air-conditioning in place of a dehumidifier. But I can't afford it.
