My Floor Wiper System

Dirt and dust gets everywhere but (almost) everything goes down, so floor cleaning is a must. As someone that lives in a condo sans broom, mop or vacuum, I depend on my daiso purchased floor wiper for my floor cleaning needs. Sadly, I also do not have a washing machine so THIS IS NOT ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY.

In the 3 years I've used it, I've developed a floor wipe system that works for me.

For (near) daily use: Dry Wipes

To get most of the dirt and dust I use a pack of very dry wipes, generic, which I got from Lazada. It waa Php 100 for 100 pieces and I'm still not through with my original pack.

For weekly use or spills: Cheap wet floor wipes

To give a slightly better clean I use these Daiso wipes that cost Php 99 for 30. While you can buy these for slightly cheaper overseas via app, I do not stock up on these as they do dry up and it doesn't make sense to package for just one pack of wipes. These are my favorites because they have just the right amount of wetness for me.

For deep cleaning: Expensive floor wipes.

I use Scotchbrite Easy Sweeper Plus Wet Refills. At 157 to 180 for 8 wipes, these are very expensive. Thankfully, these are used for heavy cleaning days AFTER a thorough clean. The wetness actually makes things more difficult if the general dirt gets ON the wipe so do a thorough sweep/dry wipe beforehand.

What I've learned: In retrospect, a broom and dustpan situation may be more ecofriendly if using a wooden broom, not a plastic one. But I think I hit a sweet spot with my situation as I had a very small unit. If I had to use more than 1 wipe per clean, a broom might have been a better option but I'd have to deal with removing the dirt from the broom itself.
