Erwin's Gastrobar

Last month was a great month for theater for me. Another good thing was I got to try out new places to eat that I haven't been to. One of these places was Erwin's Gastrobar at the City of Dreams, Manila. Since Solaire was so close, our party decided to go there for the first time.

While being a gastrobar, none of us drank alochol. The board was pretty cute though!

Since there were a lot of us, I was able to try a few things. My favorite: Quesadillas. These were made with roasted peppers, bacon, jalapeno, black pepper cheddar and mozarella. The serving size was pretty big, better to drink your hypothetical pints. With or without beer, I'd buy this again.

Hit and Miss: Chicken Wings. While the wings were generally tasty, around half of them were severely undercooked and inedible. Definitely skip this.

Another good option was their Fish Fingers. Both fish and fries were hot, though the fish derived most of its taste from the sauce. Serving size, again, was decent and good for 2-3 people.

A more blah option, their Shrimp linguine. I found the serving size too small, especially for the price, and a bit too oil heavy. Better to reduce the oil or increase the pasta to soak it up a bit more.

Overall service was decent, though not as good as expected for somewhere as fancy as the City of Dreams. Maybe it was because it was near closing? While staff were friendly, it took a while to be attended to after the initial ordering.

I'd probably go here again, maybe try a few of their mixed drinks.

Note that a regular Stella  and San Mig Pale costs P230 sans service charge.
