Review: Neutrogena Hydro Boost

This may be an older product, but I haven't been able to try it until recently. I've been using it for a month and I think I'm ready to review it. I have no idea what the price is. Sorry for the bad pictures....

One pump of Neutrogena Hydro Boost Foam Cleanser

As you can see, there is a lot of product in one pump. You can adequately wash your face with it, but sometimes, I prefer using two pumps just because it feels better. Why?

Because the foam (or mousse? what is the difference?) isn't very thick, as can be seen. You can feel that there is some barrier between your hands and skin, but not as much as others. Doubling up feels better for me. What's nice about this foam is that it's still pretty foamy even after a minute, so you don't risk having the product dry up on your face unlike some soaps.

One pump Neutrogena Hydro Boost Essence

I don't have a picture of the Clear Lotion. It's basically a toner, even if they do use the term lotion and looks like water :)). You need to use cotton with the aforementioned product. On the other hand, the essence is a moisturizer. One pump is enough to do your face.

This product doesn't require much time before sinking in. And the next day, I did the scratch test on both hands. While my left hand had some white, the right hand didn't mark at all. I consider that the effect of the line. It was gentle, but very moisturizing.

I did not try the products separately.

Yays
  • Clean scent
  • Moisturizing
  • Cleans well
  • Foam does not dissipate
  • Did not break out when I first used it
Nays
  • You can't see how much moisturizer you have left
  • Somehow, I end up using more toner than moisturizer

Heys
  • Even though it calls itself a clear lotion, it's a toner. Use a cotton pad!
  • Though it's tempting to use two, one is enough

Okays
  • Those who have oily to normal skin. It may not be effective enough for dry skin types as moisturizing was subtle.

Buy Again?
No. While I enjoyed using this line, and will probably finish the bottles, I'd like to use something that is actually appropriate for my major skin care problem (acne).
